So Nick and I decided to go to Mac Lethal last night at the Urban Lounge. When we first showed up I honestly thought nobody would show up..it was rather dead. Of course I didn't take into consideration that Mac was playing with the rest of his line up at Kilby Court earlier in the evening. I must say that I never thought I'd enjoy this show as much as I did Atmosphere, but with his energetic line up of artists I was impressed beyond my expectations. Mac's line up of artists included a few groups that really stood out to me, since I have sang hooks for my Ex bro-in-law LAM(...from SEM) I am very selective with artists and hip hop. I am by far not an expert, but I have an ear for certain sounds.
Soulcrate and Mc Pigpen, but of which have crisp sounds and are very open and friendly with their audience. In fact, MC Pigpen is a new resident of Salt Lake City. He spoke to me for a few min while Nick was in the rest room, than walked off when Nick came back. I found it rather funny considering I am very much single just hanging out. All in all these artists are worth checking out, they all have myspace pages where you can sample their music so please do. Among these please check out Atmosphere, Felt, Murs, and My favorite Brother Ali, believe me if you like Hip Hop you will not be disappointed.
Ciao!
